Day 9: Make Time To Manage Your Finances
It’s 10:45 PM and I’ve just sat down to watch a little football. I’ve been to work, taken my kids to the pediatrician, had a meeting at the church, and talked on the phone to six people. I’m exhausted and I just want to veg-out and relax. But, even though I’ve had a very, very stressful day, I’m not worried about my finances. Why?
Because, I set aside 30 minutes every Monday to go over my budget, pay bills, file financial documents, and discuss the upcoming week with my wife. I spend less than 2 hours a month “worrying” about my personal finances. In fact, I spend more time writing about managing my finances than I do actually managing my finances.
Be sure to make time to manage your finances. Don’t wait until the last minute to pay your bills or balance your checkbook. Make financial planning a priority.
Have you learned to make time to manage your finances?. Leave a comment and let us know. If you are a blogger, write a post about time management and money and contact me. I’ll be more than happy to link to your post.
